In this video we will see how to make Keerai kootu in Tamil. This is a kulambu made with Spinach ( Arai Keerai or Pasalai Keerai and Dhal /Paruppu). This Keerai Sambar or Keerai kulambu can be made watery and enjoyed with rice or it can be made in a thicker consistency like keerai masiyal and enjoyed with chapathi or roti. Keerai/Spinach is a super food packed with vitamins and minerals and it is very healthy to introduce a serving of these leafy greens in our diet. Because of the versatility of this particular recipe it can be modified as a kulambu of idli / dosa or as a combination for rice.
